The Sunday of the Resurrection (Easter Day)
Our beautiful Easter celebration encourages participation by the children at the 10:00 a.m. High Mass. They bring the dyed eggs (donated by parishioners and themselves) to the altar rail to be sprinkled with holy water and blessed. Parishioners are then encouraged to take an egg (hard boiled, of course) home to eat that day. It is an ancient custom that to eat a blessed egg on Easter is good. Following the Mass, an egg hunt in the church garden tops off a splendid and significant day. All children are encouraged to participate – even the youngest who are given a head start.
